[Alfa Romeo]Alfa Romeo opens the doors to its Historical Museum in Arese

Alfa Romeo is celebrating its 105-year anniversary by opening its historical museum in Arese, Milan, Italy to the public; the museum - named "La macchina del tempo" - is the heart of a genuine "brand centre", and it hosts a bookshop, café, documentation centre, test drive track, events venues and a show-room with a customer delivery area: it is the perfect bond between past, present and future.

Inaugurated on 24th June during the world preview of the new Giulia, "La macchina del tempo - Museo storico Alfa Romeo", is set to open to the public on 30th June and it will be open to visitors every day, except Tuesdays, from 10 am to 6 pm, with extended opening hours until 10 pm on Thursdays (www.museoalfaromeo.com).

The Museum is home to the most significant pieces in Alfa Romeo's historic collection, which was put together from the early 1960s onwards. It was inaugurated in 1976 and was open to visitors by reservation only. Following the decommissioning of the Arese production plant and the ensuing loss of the Centre's directional role, the museum was closed in 2009.

[Alfa Romeo]Alfa Romeo 4C: ‘just drive’

4 kg/HP, from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5, 137 HP/litre and 1.2 g of deceleration: 'just drive'
-130916_AR_alfa-romeo-4c-04
'Just drive' is a clear invitation to experience those genuine sensations that only Alfa Romeo is able to offer. The new signature that will accompany the communication of the Alfa Romeo models originates with the presentation of the 4C, the small thoroughbred car that marks the return of the brand to the world of lightweight sports coupés.

Extraordinary performance, unique handling, extreme aerodynamics and design that takes up the stylistic features of the Alfa Romeo tradition. This in brief is the new Alfa Romeo 4C, a driving machine without compromise that beckons drivers to take to the road or track to experience the thrill of driving it.

The Alfa Romeo 4C is essentiality and light weight, a car where everything has been designed to provide total driving pleasure. That same essentiality shaped its design. The car expresses a "natural beauty" that results from a perfect blend of function and form. Its layout and size immediately brings one of the most beautiful coupés of all time to mind, the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale. Like the legendary 33 Stradale, the 4C is designed to meet extreme mechanical and functional requirements. Its body aerodynamically 'covers' the engine and chassis with clean and essential surfaces.

[Alfa Romeo]Frankfurt Motorshow - Alfa Romeo 4C: excellence made in Italy

05alfa
Alfa Romeo unveils the technical contents and manufacturing secrets of the new 'compact supercar' which embodies the sportiness intrinsic to the 'Alfa Romeo DNA': performance and engineering excellence offering maximum driving satisfaction in total safety in addition to breathtaking style.
The Alfa Romeo 4C developers have combined the best technical and manufacturing competencies of two brands: Alfa Romeo and Maserati. Thanks to the internal synergies of the Fiat - Chrysler Group, the two carmakers were able to collaborate from the perspective of integrating Alfa Romeo's design roles and Maserati's manufacturing functions. The engineering and technological contribution of other Italian world-wide leaders in the component industry for high-performance sportscars has also been instrumental in achieving the result.

In particular, the Maserati plant brings in topmost quality and meticulously studied details reminiscent of hand-crafted work. As the birthplace of the world's most famous 'sportscars,' Modena and its surroundings are definitely the place that offers everything one may need to manufacture them: tradition, technology and know-how, but most of all, the same passion driving the team who conceived, designed and built the Alfa Romeo 4C.

[Alfa Romeo]Alfa Romeo at the 2012 Paris International Motor Show

MiTo SBK, also in numbered limited edition
The new Sportiva version and the Collezione pack now complement the Giulietta range
120913_ar_giulietta_sportiva_01
Alfa Romeo is back at the Paris Motor Show with a spectacular stand that brings the
brand's more dynamic and vital spirit to the fore. The exhibition area unfolds like
a winding, dynamic road, the ideal scenario for experiencing the emotion that only
Alfa Romeo cars can offer, thanks to their agility, power and safety. Specifically,
this year the cars on display and the stand itself celebrate the now consolidated
partnership established in 2007 between Alfa Romeo and the "Eni FIM SBK Superbike
World Championship", a winning combination that best conveys Italian motor racing
style and experience around the world.
Four MiTo vehicles parade through this picturesque scenery: a Safety Car version
used in the SBK world championship, two versions that will be launched on the market
in upcoming months that are derived from precisely the MiTo Safety Car - a 170 HP
Superbike Limited Edition of 200 cars and a Turbo TwinAir Superbike Special Series -
and lastly an Exclusive version with Sport Pack. An Aprilia superbike motorcycle
that rider Max Biaggi uses in the SBK championship stands out beside these sporty
interpretations of the model.
More in detail, the public can admire the source of inspiration for the two Special
Series, the Alfa Romeo MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde 1.4 MultiAir 170 HP which is the "Eni
FIM SBK Superbike World Championship" Official Safety Car. Sporting its exclusive
Rosso Competizione colour, the car took to the track on the warm up laps and before
every race, in addition to the other competitions scheduled on Superbike World
Championship days, such as the Supersport World Championship, FIM Superstock 1000
Cup and Superstock 600 European Championship.
The spotlights are also trained on the Giulietta, which the public can admire with
its refined Collezione pack and exclusive "Sportiva" trim level, inspired by the
legendary Quadrifoglio Verde that has always been the symbol of technical excellence
of Alfa Romeo creations. These are two important product innovations that will
contribute to consolidating the outstanding sales performance the Alfa Romeo
Giulietta has reached up to now: over 165,000 units have been ordered around the
world since its launch in mid-2010 until today.

[Alfa Romeo]81st Geneva International Motor Show - World Premiere: the Alfa Romeo 4C Concept

01alfa4c
At the 81st Geneva International Motor Show, the Alfa Romeo 4C Concept will make its debut, a compact “supercar” which represents the true essence of a sports car, according to the brand's values: performance, Italian style and technical excellence aimed at maximum driving pleasure in total safety.

The new concept presents the classic formula of the two-seater, rear-wheel drive coupé with its engine at the centre, a length of approximately 4 metres and a wheelbase of less than 2.4 metres: dimensions which serve both to emphasise the compact size of the car and to accentuate its agility. Distinguished by its graceful and clean external lines, the same principles are also applied to the inside, with the Concept's specific on-board design maintaining features and devices which directly reflect the car’s sporting spirit.

On the Alfa Romeo 4C Concept technology and materials derived from the 8C Competizione find a home - carbon, aluminium, rear-wheel drive - and technology derived from Alfa Romeo models currently on sale: the 1750 turbo petrol engine with direct injection, the "Alfa TCT" twin dry clutch transmission and the Alfa DNA dynamic control selector.
Quite simply, this vehicle screams Alfa. Its sports car soul creates a unique driving sensation, both on the road and when racing, where its velocity and transverse acceleration become even more demanding.

[Alfa Romeo]Alfa Romeo takes part in the "Mille Miglia 2010" parade

080520_ar_millemiglia08_02_1024
Alfa Romeo will be taking part in the “Mille Miglia 2010” parade as Joint Presenting Sponsor. The “most beautiful road race in the world” - as it was famously dubbed by Enzo Ferrari - will be starting off from Brescia on 6 May where will be finishing on the 9th, after stopping in some of Italy’s most picturesque cities.

Fascinating and challenging, 375 crews will be competing in the 1600 kilometre long regularity race driving the extraordinary cars which, as required by rules, took part in one of the 30 editions of the historical Mille Miglia race from 1927 to 1957. Alfa Romeo couldn’t miss out on the "Freccia Rossa" (or "Red Arrow" in Italian, as the event is also named), which this year coincides with the brand's centenary. The Official “Automobilismo Storico Alfa Romeo” team has made five remarkable museum cars available: a 6C 1500 Super Sport (1928), a 6C 1750 Gran Sport (1930), an 8C 2300 Le Mans (1931), a 6C 2300 B (1937) and a 1900 Super Sprint (1956). Three cars from private collectors will also be part of the official team: a 6C 1750 Gran Sport (1932), a 6C 2500 Cabriolet (1951) and a Giulietta Sprint (1955).

The brand-new Giulietta will also be featuring in the “Mille Miglia 2010” by the side of the vintage cars of inestimable value which have made international motoring history. The result of Alfa Romeo’s new direction in style and technology, beginning with the 8C Competizione super car and highlighted by the re-use of Italian names, the Giulietta marks a return to the brand's glorious past and projects the car maker's traditional values of technology and emotion into the future. Spectators can admire the new car at the Mille Miglia Villages in Brescia and Rome and along the route: the fleet made available to organisers will include 18 Giuliettas, and seven other Alfas, namely 159s and MiTos. Last but not least, five Alfa Romeo Giuliettas (equipped with powerful 1.4 TB MultiAir and 2.0 JTDM engines, both delivering 170 HP) will be driven by foreign journalists who will be taking the wheel in turns along the entire route of the “Mille Miglia 2010”.
