Ferrari on track at Paul Ricard

Le Castellet (Var), 5th July 2009

This was the final day of the Ferrari Racing Days event at the French Paul Ricard HTTT circuit of Le Castellet, featuring the fourth rounds of the Italian and European Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli, with cars entered in the exclusive FXX Programme also completing some free practice sessions.

In the main class of the second race in the Italian Trofeo Pirelli, Giorgio Sernagiotto (Motor/Piacenza) redeemed Race 1 defeat, crossing the line ahead of Marco Mapelli (Rossocorsa) and his team-mate Lorenzo Case. Among the gentlemen drivers in the Coppa Shell, Stefano Gai (Rossocorsa) pulled off a fantastic double, taking his fifth consecutive win ahead of Eugenio Amos (Ineco/Ram) and Massimo Mantovani (Motor/Malucelli.)




As for the European Trofeo Pirelli, French driver Nicolas Misslin (Stradale Automobile) confirmed his dominance, getting the better of Czech Republic driver Robert Pergl (Scuderia Praha) and Max Blancardi (Motor/Malucelli.) The finishing order past the chequered flag in the Coppa Shell saw Yannick Mallegol (Motor/Piacenza) first, followed by Tibor Valint (Warm Up) and Stephane Clareton (Stradale Automobile.)

The next round of the Italian and European series of the Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy takes
place over the weekend of 6 September at Brno. It will provide another opportunity to admire in action the single-seaters prepared by the F1 Clienti department of Maranello and the historic cars entered in the third round of the Shell Historic Challenge. The FXX programme will be back on track in Spain, at Valencia, over the weekend of 27 September.

Repeats of Race 2 can be seen this evening on Sky Sport 2 at 20h and 23h, on 6 July at 9h30 and 17h and 9 July at 17h. The first race of the Italian Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy can be seen on the same channel on 7 July at 17h and on Wednesday 8 July at 9h30.
