Another successful weekend for the F430

Maranello (Modena), 22nd June 2009

Ferrari brought home three important victories in the international Gran Turismo competitions on the last weekend in the GT2 class, in the new FIA GT and Italian GT Championship races.

In this season’s third race in the FIA GT Championship, held under torrential rain at the German race track of Oschersleben, Toni Vilander and Gianmaria Bruni won their first race of the year. Thanks to this result the AF Corse team’s Italians, crossing the line ahead of Marco Holzer-Sean Edwards with the Porsche 997 and Stefan Mücke-Frédéric Makowiecki with Aston Martin, were able to consolidate the Ferrari leadership in the Constructors’ standings.
The prestigious racing series will be back on 26th July at the legendary Belgian race track at Spa-Francorchamps.

Meanwhile at the Italian GT Championship race at Mugello Ferrari celebrated a triple win in race 1 and a victory in race 2. Both races were won by the F430 with Marco Cioci and Giuseppe Perazzini. In race one the men from the Megadrive team crossed the line ahead of the two Ferraris driven by Massimiliano Mugelli-Thomas Kemenater (SPT) and Rui Aguas-Alessandro Garofano (Advanced Engineering). In the second run the Ferrari drivers were faster than the Porsche 997 with Francisco Cruz Martins-Sascha Maassen and the Lamborghini Gallardo with Matteo Grassotto- Adriano Baso.
The next race in the Italian GT Championship will be held on the weekend of 19th July at the Misano Adriatico circuit.
