Shell historic challenge - At vigeant against cancer

This season's second Shell Ferrari Historic Challenge appointment will be held at the Val de Vienne circuit at Le Vigeant, together with the Sport & Collection event, a charity appointment, held for the 15th time this year and one of the most important events as far as historical cars are concerned. This year's slogan is " 500 Ferrari contre le cancer".
The event is dedicated to cancer research, while this year almost 1,500 cars are expected at the start. The weekend's packed programme includes not only racing on the track, but also a private test for three historical single-seaters run by the F1 Clienti department in Maranello, amongst them the car raced by Felipe Massa in the 2006 F1 Championship and the spectacular Ferrari 333 SP, the car which marked Ferrari's return to what was once known as sports-prototype racing.
Meanwhile the overall classification is lead by Massimo Sordi with 35 points, conquered with his 1957 Maserati 200 SI, followed by Darius Ahrabian with a 1992 Ferrari F40 LM (25 points) and Nicolas Zapata with a 1956 Ferrari 625, just one point further back.
The race weekend will start on Friday with the first free practice sessions, followed by more free practice sessions, the qualifyings and the first race on Saturday, while Sunday will be dedicated to the second and last race of the competition.
