Ferrari Racing Days a Imola

Maranello (Modena), 14th May 2009

On the upcoming weekend the Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy Championship returns to Imola’s renovated “Enzo e Dino Ferrari” circuit, for this season’s fourth Ferrari Racing Days appointment. The race track in Emilia-Romagna will host another round of the competitions in the Italian and European single-marque racing series, Trofeo Pirelli and Coppa Shell – with both series’ races held together with separate classifications. On the same weekend spectators will have the possibility to admire the historic single-seaters from Maranello’s F1 Clienti Department and the cars taking part in this season’s third Abarth 500 Trophy race.


At the moment the Italian Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli series’ classification is lead by Giorgio Sernagiotto (Motor/Piacenza) with 76 points, while the young Rossocorsa team driver Stefano Gai leads the gentleman drivers in the Coppa Shell standings with 72 points.

Meanwhile the Trofeo Pirelli Europe is lead by the Austrian Phillip Baron (Baron Service) with 70 points, while with the same amount of points the Frenchmen Jean-Marc Bachelier and Yannick Mallego from the Motor/Piacenza team are leading the Coppa Shell standings.

The event will start on Friday, 15th May with the first free practice sessions, followed by the qualifyings and the first races of the European and Italian Trofeo Pirelli and Coppa Shell on Saturday. Sunday, the Ferrari Racing Days’ third and last day, sees the second races and more free practice sessions for the F1 Clienti single-seaters.

The two races of the Italian Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli can be seen on Sky Sport 2 on Saturday, 16th May at 3:45pm (race 1) and on Sunday, 17th May at 3:30om (race 2). Reruns of race 1 on the same channel can be watched on 16th May at 1:30am, on 17th May at 12pm, on 18th May at 9:30am and on 19th May at 5pm. Reruns of race 2 on 19th May at 9:30am and on 20th May at 5pm.
