Victories for Misslin and Frodig at Portimão

The fact it is Easter did not stop a big crowd of race fans heading to the Algarve International Circuit for the sixth round of the A1GP powered by Ferrari Championship, with a busy race card also including the European series of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli and a double session of laps for the cars run by the F1 Clienti department.
In the second round of this season’s one-make series, drivers from both categories took to the track together for a single race, which for much of the time was run under yellow flags, following an accident involving the Danish driver, Dennis Andersen: he spun and was then hit by Britain’s Jack Gerber and the Frenchman Stephane Clareton. Once the track was clear, French driver Nicolas Misslin (Stradale Automobile) was first past the chequered flag, to take the win in the Trofeo Pirelli category, ahead of Germany’s Bjorn Grossmann (Autohaus Gohm) and Max Blancardi (Motor/Malucelli.) As for the gentlemen drivers in the Coppa Shell, victory went to the Sweden Magnus Frodig (Formula Automobile) followed home by Hungary’s Tibor Valint (Warm Up) and the Frenchman Yannick Mallegol (Motor/Piacenza)
