Ferrari Challenge - Destination Portimão

The Algarve international circuit is getting ready to host, alongside the season’s sixth race of the A1 GP Championship, the second run of the European Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy series on the upcoming weekend. Next to the single-seaters powered by Ferrari and the F430 taking part in the fierce competition some cars from the F1 Clienti department in Maranello will go on the Portuguese track for a double-run of free practice laps.
The activities on the race track will start Friday, 10th April with the free practice sessions followed by the qualifying and the first race on Saturday and the final races on Sunday.
In the Pirelli Trophy’s main category the Austrian Phillip Baron (Baron Service) is the classification’s leader, followed by the German Björn Grossmann (Autohaus Gohm) and Frenchman Nicolas Misslin (Stradale Automobile).
The provisional first place in the Shell Cup for gentleman drivers is held by the Hungarian driver Csaba Spitzmueller (Warm Up), ahead of his fellow countryman and teammate Tibor Valint and Frenchman Jean-Marc Bachelier (Motor/Piacenza).
