World Touring Car Championship at Macao

Alfa Romeo Racing Team in Macau for the last race. Fifth Alfa 156 for the driver Andre Couto.

From Thursday 17th to Sunday 20th November the Fia World Touring Car Championship will live its last appointment in China, on the urban circuit of Macau.
Alfa Romeo Racing Team is fighting for the drivers and manufacturers world titles at the end of a very exciting season. For this reason, in Macau will be five official Alfa 156s with the drivers Fabrizio Giovanardi (third in Championship with the chance to win the title), Gabriele Tarquini (fifth in overall), James Thompson (sixth), Augusto Farfus (eight) and the "home driver" Andre Couto, for the first time in WTCC.


Andre Couto bears in Lisbon (Portugal) on 14th December 1976 and drives in motorsport from 1991.
Last year finished second in the Giapaneese GT Championship, the same serie where was protagounist during this season. Couto ran with Alfa Romeo in 2003 at the 50th Macau Grand Prix Guia race taking the pole position for Leg One at the wheels of Alfa 147.
Macau, last race of World Touring Car Championship first edition, will see the final battle for the titles.
Fabrizio Giovanardi is the Alfa’s driver who can conquers the win. During this season, Giovanardi won in Imola (Italy), Puebla (Mexico), Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium) and Istanbul (Turkey) and now has only five points from the provisional leader D. Muller (Bmw).
