Under severe rain the first Ferrari Racing Days of the 2009 season ended
today at the Monza race track: the circuit hosted the intense programme of the season’s first round of
the European and Italian Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy and the Shell Ferrari Historic Challenge
Europe, dedicated to historical cars, held for the 17th and 14th time respectively.
The second race of the Pirelli Trophy’s Italian racing series dedicated to the F430s saw Riccardo
Ragazzi gaining victory: the Scuderia Ineco/MP driver won ahead of Giorgio Sernagiotto
(Motor/Piacenza) and Marco Mapelli (Rossocorsa). Amongst the Gentleman Drivers in the Shell Cup
Benedetto Marti (Motor/Piacenza) gained an excellent double-win ahead of Stefano Gai (Rossocorsa)
and Vincenzo Sauto (Ineco/MP).
As far as the second run of the European series in the Pirelli Trophy is concerned the Austrian Philipp
Baron (Baron Service) confirmed his abilities with a victory ahead of Frenchman Nicolas Misslin
(Stradale Automobile) and the German Björn Grossmann (Autohaus Gohm). Meanwhile Csaba
Spitzmueller, after winning the first race, was the first driver crossing the line in the Shell Cup, ahead
of Tibor Valint (Warm Up) and Frank Gelf (Eberlein Kas).

Victory in the final race of the Shell Ferrari Historic Challenge, with a single grid for “A + B” for cars
with drum brakes and disk brakes, went to Darius Ahrabian behind the wheel of an excellent 1992
F40 LM, ahead of Swiss Historic and Mister John B, both with 1980 Ferrari 512 BB LMs.
The European Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy will be back on the track on the weekend of 12th March
at the Portuguese Algarve circuit, on the same days as the penultimate race of the A1GP
Championship and the F1 Clienti Maranello department’s activities. The Italian series of the singlemarques
Championship will meet for the second race during the weekend of 3rd May at the Mugello
circuit, while the next event for the historical cars of the Shell Ferrari Historic Challenge will be held
on 27th June at the French track of Le Vigeant.
Reruns of the two races of the Italian series in the Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy will be broadcast
on 30th March at 9:30am on Sky Sport 2 (Shell Cup, race 1) and 31st March 9:30am on Sky Sport 2
(Pirelli Trophy, race 1). The second race of the Shell Cup will be shown in a rerun on Sky Sport 2 on
30th March at 11:30pm and on 1st April at 9:30am (Pirelli Trophy - race 2) and again on Sky Sport 2
on 1st April at 11:30pm, on 2nd April at 9:20am and on 9th April at 11:30pm.
