Ferrari Racing Days at Nürburgring, Baron and Cantillon dominate


At the German N?rburgring the Ferrari Racing Days started today. Over the weekend the races of the sixth round for the F430 in the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli's European division will be held, while also cars from the Historic Challenge Trofeo Pirelli will go on the track. There are four free practice sessions for the 19 single-seaters prepared by F1 Clienti department from Maranello, with nine models used by Michael Schumacher in races and the cars from the exclusive FXX Program.
The first race of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli was won by the Austrian Philipp Baron (Baron Service), followed by the Italian Max Blancardi (Motor/Malucelli) and the German Bjiörn Grossmann (Autohaus Gohm). In the Coppa Shell Englishman Michael Cantillon (Ferrari GB Dealer Team) crossed the line first, ahead of Walter Forer (Rossocorsa/Pellin) and the Frenchman Jean-Marc Bachelier (Ferrari GB Dealer Team).
In the two qualifying sessions for tomorrow's race the fastest driver of the European Trofeo Pirelli's pack was once again Philipp Baron (Baron Service), while Michael Cantillon (Ferrari GB Dealer Team) will start from the pole position amongst the gentleman drivers.


As far as the European division of the Shell Ferrari Historic Challenge ais concerned, Daniel Maier, behind the wheel of a Maserati 300S (1955), won the race of grid "A" ahead of Lukas Huni's Maserati A6GCS (1954) and Nicolas Zapata, with a Ferrari 625 TR (1956). Race 1 of grid "C" was dominated by Daniel Franklin's Ferrari 312 P (1969), followed by the 1980 Ferraris 512 BB LM with Arnold Meier and Jean Guittard.
Tomorrow, Sunday, 5th October, the final races and nine free practice laps for the F1 Clienti and FXX will be held. In the afternoon there will be an eleventh car amongst the FXX, one driven by Michael Schumacher. At the end of the program the German driver will stay on the track behind the wheel of the new California.
