Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy at Mugello surprises in qualifying

Today, 38 Challenge versions of the F430 were competing at the Mugello circuit in a double round of free practice and qualifying. Tomorrow, the Tuscan track hosts the Italian Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy races in the sixth round of the season. Also on the programme, the Owner-Test Drivers at the wheel of seven FXX cars and for these laboratory-cars, used in this exclusive programme, this is their first outing in Europe in their very latest version. The evolution kit presented at last year's World Finals made its debut in Shanghai in April, at the first event on the calendar, before going on across the seas in Fuji (Japan,) Mont Tremblant (Canada) and Laguna Seca (California.)

In the four Pirelli Trophy qualifying sessions held today, the best times were set by Giorgio Sernagiotto (Motor/Piacenza) and Niki Cadei (Rossocorsa.) Starting from the front among the gentlemen drivers in the Shell Cup, after a surprising performance, will be Tommaso Rocca (Rossocorsa) and Emilio Ferroni (Rossocorsa/Pellin.)

The two races in the Italian series of the Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy will be shown live on Sky Sport 2 at 10.20 (Race 1) and at 15.50 (Race 2.) Race 2 will then be repeated that same Sunday at 23.45, Tuesday 23rd September at 20.00, Wednesday 24th September at 9.30 and 01.30. Race 1 can be seen again, still on Sky Sport 2 on Monday 22nd September at 9.30 and 17.00. As for the Shell Cup, that will be shown live at 12.05 and 16.05 with replays of Race 1 on Tuesday 23rd September at 9.30 and 17.00, Race 2 on Tuesday 23rd September at 01.30, Wednesday 24th September at 20.00 and Thursday 25th at 9.30.
