FIA GT Championship: An all Ferrari podium at Oschersleben

Maranello (Modena), 7th July 2008

Another all Ferrari podium in the Grand Touring race arena: three F430 developed by the "Corse Clienti" department in Maranello finished in the top three places of the GT2 class in the fourth round of the FIA GT Championship, held yesterday at the German Oschersleben, one of the most modern facilities in Europe, near Magdeburg.

First and second places went to the crews fielded by Scuderia AF Corse, made up of Gianmaria Bruni - Toni Vilander and Thomas Biagi - Christian Montanari, while third place went to the duo of Rob Bell - Andrew Kirkaldy (CR Scuderia.) All of them made the most of an appearance from the Safety Car, which came out half way through the second leg, while debris was removed from the track. More significantly, the also held off the attacks from the Porsche 911 of Emmanuel Collard - Richard Westbrook, who crossed the line in fourth place.

Thanks to this result, Ferrari consolidates its lead in the Constructors' Cup and AF Corse confirms its first place in the team classification, while the crew of Bruni - Vilander stays at the top of the driver standings.

The next round of the FIA GT series takes place over the weekend of 3rd August, with the most prestigious race of the championship, the Spa-Francorchamps 24 Hours.
