FIA GT at Adria: another Ferrari clean sweep

Maranello (Modena), 22nd June 2008

After securing a clean sweep in the Le Mans 24 Hours last Sunday, there was another one for Ferrari at the top of an international GT race. In fact, four 430 GT2 cars occupied the top four places in the third round of the 2008 FIA GT Championship, held yesterday night on the Adria track in Rovigo.
On the short and tricky track, ( a bit under 3 kilometres) a storming race ended on the top step of the podium for the F430 entered by the Italian AF Corse Team and driven by Giammaria Bruni - Toni Vilander, who pulled off a spectacular passing move at the hairpin on the Porsche of Collard -Westbrook. A splendid second place went to team-mates Thomas Biagi - Christian Montanari, despite some brake problems. They were followed home in third and fourth places by the crews of Matteo Malucelli - Paolo Ruberti (BMS Scuderia Italia) and Fabio Babini - Jamie Davis (Scuderia Ecosse.)

Ferrari thus strengthens its position in the lead of the Constructors' Cup and will be back in action at the next round of the FIA GT championship, which takes place on 6 July at the German Oschersleben circuit.
