A busy weekend for the F430 at Monza, Valencia and Salt Lake City

A triple for the Ferrari marquee in the second round of the 2008 FIA GT Championship, held yesterday at Monza (Italy.) The result came courtesy of the crews of Vilander-Bruni, (AF Corse,) Montanari-Biagi (AF Corse) and Babini-Davies (Scuderia Ecosse.) Initially, victory had gone to the Porsche duo of Collard-Westbrook, but they were disqualified after an irregularity with the regulations. The F430 will be back in action at the Adria circuit on 20th and 21st June.
In the second round of the Open GT Championship, an amazing result for Ferrari with five cars on the two podiums. After a difficult Saturday, in the second race, the Montermini-Macerartesi F430 and the Portuguese duo of Giao-Couceiro finished first and third respectively. Splitting the two Playteam Ferraris was one entered by Team Advanced Racing for Rugola and Tavano.
In Race 1, second and third steps of the podium belonged Frezza-Monfardini (Edilcris) and Cressoni-Bontempelli (Edilcris): the only victory to elude Ferrari went to the Lietz-Roda crew driving a Porsche.


The next round takes place at Spa over the weekend of 1st June.
The fourth round of the American Le Mans Series was held at the Miller Motorsports Park of Salt Lake City (Utah): of the four Ferrari 430 GT2 cars entered, a third place for the F430 of Dominik Farnbacher/Dirk Muller (Tafel Racing Team.) Once again cruel luck hit for Salo-Melo from Team Risi, who after suffering with a reservoir problem at the start were then forced to retire on lap 62 after a collision with a backmarker.
The crews will be back in action at Lime Rock on 13th July.
