Ferrari 60 Relay at the Farnesina for the handing over of the gifts

On the occasion of its 60th anniversary Ferrari organized a relay that crossed five continents. During that tour, called "FERRARI 60 RELAY", a gift from each country passed by the cars of the Prancing Horse has been sent to Rome.
The more than 50 gifts have been committed symbolically from the vice-minister of the exterior Ugo Intini to the son of the founder and Ferrari vice-president Piero Ferrari on the occasion of an official meeting at the international conference hall of the Farnesina, the Italian Ministry of the Exterior.
The event has been accompanied by a sound installation outside of the Farnesina by the CRM (Centro Ricerche Musicali) of the CEMAT Foundation.
The whole collection of items will be auctioned in a charity event in Maranello on 23rd June. Included amongst the objects is a shirt of the Brazilian national team with a signature by Pelé, a horse made out of jade donated by China, a Russian matrioshka of 60cm with another 30 inside, a helmet made out of Meissen porcelain signed by Michael Schumacher, an antique Beduine dagger (a gift from the United Arab Emirates), numerous paintings and many other objects celebrating the Prancing Horse.
The catalogue of the charity auction can be seen online on www.ferrari60relay.com, where you can also take part in the event. The Tour will pass through the streets of the Italian capital and eventually arrives at the Farnesina on Saturday, while on and Sunday, 17th June, the cars will arrive at the Vallelunga circuit "Piero Taruffi", where the F430s are racing their fourth run of the season of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli Italia.
