Today, Ferrari Racing Days gets underway at England's Silverstone circuit, with the first races in the European series of the Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy, for the F430 cars, as well as the Shell Ferrari Historic Challenge, for historic Prancing Horse and Maserati cars.

"Ferrari is a marque with a great tradition," commented Bruno Senna, who is taking part in this event as a guest driver with the Ferrari GB dealer team. "It is an honour for me to be part of this event, not only because it is a great opportunity to race but also because I am a fan of the Prancing Horse."

In the Shell Cup for gentlemen drivers, Ronnie Kessel (Kessel Racing) took the win ahead of Philippe Prette (Baron Service) and Christopher Breuer (Kessel Racing.)

In the Shell Ferrari Historic Challenge, Stefan Schollwoeck came out on top in his Maserati in the Grid A race for single seaters, while the 1972 Ferrari 312 PB of Irvine Laidlaw was victorious in Group C for cars fitted with disc brakes.

Apart from the competitive events, the day's programme also featured on track demonstration runs by historic single-seaters, prepared by the Maranello F1 Clienti department, as well as the debut in the European season of the exclusive FXX programme, which is also coordinated by the Ferrari Corse Clienti department.

Tomorrow is the main day of the event, with on track spectacle guaranteed with the additional presence of forty F40s which after a parade in Mugello at the beginning of April, will also have a run around the Northamptonshire circuit as part of the European celebrations for the twentieth anniversary of this prestigious model.
