Silverstone; World Superbike Race 1 - Summary
Troy Bayliss has won the first World Superbike race at Silverstone, after holding off challenges from second placed Nori Haga and third placed Troy Croser in appallingly wet conditions.
Roby Rolfo was fourth, Regis Laconi fifth, Max Baiggi sixth and Lorenzo Lanzi seventh.
James Toseland crashed on lap three while fighting for fourth place. He rejoined the race in 18th place and worked his way back to eighth, passing some riders and seeing others crash out of the race. Only thirteen riders finished the race.
