As the Monaco F1 GP approaches, Ferrari wins in GT with the F430

In the weekend prior to the Formula Grand Prix at Monaco, Ferrari scored important wins in international Grand Touring races with the F430 GT developed by its Corse Clienti department.
On the street circuit in Bucharest, Romania, in the FIA GT championship, the Italian AF Corse Motorola car, driven by Germany's Dirk Mueller and Finland's Toni Vilander, took the top spot in the GT class for the third time in the three races held so far this season. The result was a surprise thanks to a great climb through the order combined with a finely tuned pit stop strategy. This after the team had been forced to start from the back of the grid, after the engine had to be changed as a precautionary measure. In this difficult rain affected race, second place went to the Collard/Malucelli Porsche, one lap down on the winners.

The Ferrari F430 GT entered by Petersen Motorsports/White Lightning with the Czech Tomas Enge and England's Darren Turner sharing the wheel, produced the perfect hat trick of pole position, fastest race lap and win) in the fifth round of this year's 2007 American Le Mans Series, again in the GT2 category. At the Tooele (Utah) circuit, the runners up were Van Overbeek/Bergmeister in a Porsche.
Finally, the in third round of the International GT Open at Valencia in Spain, the F430 GT run by GPC Sport, in the hands of Italy's Alessandro Bonetti and Austria's Philipp Peter, won the second leg, after the first went to the Mosler of Aicart/Guerrero.
