Wins for Bontempelli and Postiglione in the Ferrari Challenge

Today, at the Monza circuit was the final day of the special programme which during the course of the weekend saw the single-seaters prepared by the Maranello F1 Clienti department take to the track along with the F430s competing in the third round of the 2007 Italian Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy.

In the main category of the one-make series, race-1 saw victory go to Lorenzo Bontempelli, the Rossocorsa driver crossing the line ahead of Vito Postiglione (Motor/Malucelli) and Philipp Baron (Baron Service.) Coming out on top among the gentlemen drivers in the Shell Cup was Sandro Mucelli (Stile F Service) who beat the crew of Sauto/Prinoth (Ineco/MP Racing) and Vanni Campari (Motor/Sauro.)

In the afternoon race, the winner turned out to be Postiglione ahead of Bontempelli and Baron, second and third respectively. Giorgio Massazza (Rossocorsa) then took the top slot in the Shell Cup, beating Sauto/Prinoth and Nina Jerancic (AC-Maranello Auto.)

As for the Formula 1 demonstration, over the weekend no less than sixteen cars took part in their own free practice sessions. Worthy of note, the participation of an ex-Ascari 1953 500 F2 and seven examples of cars driven by Michael Schumacher during his career with the Prancing Horse.

The next round of this season's Italian Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy is scheduled to take place at Vallelunga, over the weekend of 16-17 June.
