Ferrari 60 Relay in Germany

Kerpen, 8th May 2007

The Ferrari 60 Relay is proceeding through Germany, where the Tour and the celebrations for the 60th anniversary of Ferrari have been hearty welcome in the city of Wiesbaden, one of the oldest Spa towns in Europe and capital of the federal state Hesse. Under wet weather conditions and frequent rains the Ferrari owners left in the direction of the famous and legendary Nürburgring; the ride to the German race track was held like a rally on the streets through the countryside with an enthusiastic arrival at the old part of the circuit. The new and historical cars, which participated in this stage, drove a lap on the 22,835 metre long track, with its distinctive fast ups and downs, which provided great fun to all the participants; besides Ferrari holds the record of the most victories on this legendary race track.

After passing also at the new part of the circuit, which has been built in the year 1984 and modified in 2002, the staff and the participating Ferrari owners arrived in the city of Bad Neuenahr, where they all stopped for dinner. On the morning of 8th May the Tour left in the direction of Kerpen, where Michael Schumacher?s ?kartodromo? is situated. For two hours the owners had the possibility to race the carts against each other on the track. After a lunch with specialities from Emilia-Romagna the participants arrived at the villa of racing driver Wolfgang von Trips, who prematurely passed away in a tragic accident in the Parabolica corner in Monza in the year 1961.

Thus the first leg of the German stage ended, while the part of the Relay, leading through Germany, will be concluded in Berlin tomorrow.
