GT Italia: Bellin and the Lights make the podium twice

Mariano Bellin took two third places in the GT3-B class at the wheel of the Advanced Electronics GranSport Light. The race was held as part of the second round of the Sara GT Italian Gran Turismo championship at Misano Adriatico.
In race 1 the three Maserati drivers, after a trouble-free start, drove consistently throughout. The GT3-B, Mariano Bellin found the right tempo and closed out the race third in his class. He finished on the same lap as Coggiola/Di Bari's Porsche 997 in second.
In the Trofeo Nazionale CSAI’s GT Cup, Giorgio Manuzzi’s Seven Eleven Maserati Trofeo just missed out on a podium place as he came home fourth. The other Trofeo fielded by Seven Eleven finished seventh with Carlo Romani on board.

Giorgio Manuzzi had to pull into the pits in race 2 due to a problem with his gear selector. Unfortunately, he was not able to continue. Romani was thus the only driver to fly Maserati’s colours in the GT Cup and he crossed the line in sixth. In GT3-B, Mariano Bellin bettered his fine morning lap times to collect his second runner-up spot of the day and continue the form he showed at Adria in round one.
The next Italian GT championship race will be held on 17 June at the Autodrome of Umbria.
Comment:
Mariano Bellin: "The set up was not ideal in race 1 as the back end was too soft. In race 2 we improved things and my times lowered as a consequence. The results are pleasing, obtained as they were on a new track and one that is difficult to read."
