Ferrari 60 Relay in Greece - Between Old and Modern Ages


On 24th April the Relay arrived in the birthplace of the Olympic Games: Greece. The location of the Relay's departure in the capital was of an immense visual impact: The Olympic stadium with its avant-garde structure by the architect Santiago Calatrava; which reflected the correspondence between the Ferrari 60 Relay, the relay of the Olympic flame and technical research and development.
Approximately 40 customers and their cars and families attended the event in this splendid frame to pass an unforgettable day, celebrating the anniversary of Ferrari, but also to honour tradition and culture of this magnificent country in the Mediterranean region.
The departure of the cars participating in the Relay took place in the presence of the Italian ambassador Gianpaolo Scarante, who also received the gift for the charity auction in Maranello.


After the cars passed the city of Lavrio in the Attica region and where the mayor honoured the Tour and its cars, the convoy moved on to the famous Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounio. After the members of the Tour and the customers had admired the splendid ancient ruins from the Dorian period, the staff and the customers had lunch before returning to Athens.
Two more stops for the Tour before members and customers took part in event in the evening, while later on the suggestive acropolis was the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable gala with terrific fireworks. The following day the Tour left in the direction of Mycenae, the famous antique city, which had its most important period during the classical period. Eventually the cars arrived in Argo, which is know for the numerous legends related to its city wall.
Tour sponsor Shell had organized numerous events for the customers. Now the Tour will proceed in the direction of Russia and later on finally arrive in Northern Europe.
