Ferrari at Misano this weekend

This weekend, the World Circuit at Misano Adriatico hosts the second round of the 2007 Italian Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy and the European series of this one-make championship, both of which feature the Shell Cup for gentlemen drivers.
The two series, each run over six events prior to ending at the Ferrari World Finals, feature the F430 as sole vehicle after the 360 Modena bowed out last year at the end of a brilliant racing career. In total there will be over eighty cars taking to the track, as from tomorrow, Friday 20 April, with the first sessions, prior to races on Saturday and Sunday. The formula for the competition consists of forty minute races, including the usual obligatory pit stop to guarantee spectacle and excitement in the pit lane, as well as allowing for cars to be crewed by two drivers taking turns at the wheel.
Going into the Misano round, the classification of the Italian Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy is headed by Vito Postiglione (team Motor/Malucelli,) while the leader in the Shell Cup is Sandro Mucelli (Stile F Service.) In the European series, the lead in each category is held by Frenchman Ange Barde (Stradale Automobile) and Italy's Walter Forer (Rossocorsa/Pellin) respectively. The fifteenth year of the Italian Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy is being broadcast exclusively by SKY Italy. For this second round, long coverage is scheduled for Sunday 22 April on SKY Sport Extra from 9.15, including coverage of the European series.
RTL 102.5, the official radio partner of the Italian one-make series in 2007, will broadcast coverage during various bulletins over the course of the weekend. The European Ferrari Challenge will get ample coverage in the "Ferrari Racing" magazine show which covers all the Prancing Horse's racing, this year put out by the pan-European Motors TV channel and by other broadcasters on a world level, with a schedule that will shortly be revealed by distribution company SPORTFIVE.
