Valencia: Superbike Race 1 - Summary
Ruben Xaus has won World Superbike race 1 at Valencia, ahead of Nori Haga, Troy Bayliss and Troy Croser, with Toseland was a distant fifth.
Bayliss led from the start but Corser passed him on the first lap. Corser, Bayliss, Haga and Xaus then broke away from the rest of the field and Xaus began picking his way to the front. He took the lead on lap 6, was passed by Haga on lap 9 but then retook and held the lead on lap 11.
Biaggi never recovered from his poor grid position, fighting Brookes, Lanzi and Fabrizio for an eventual 8th place finish.
