Ferrari and the Cinema: roll the cameras!

From 17 April the Ferrari myth 'on film' will transfer to the Ferrari Store in Rome. This will be the setting for a new exhibition and the new 'Movie' collection.
From 17 April to 7 May, the cinema will once more play a part in the world of Ferrari with an exhibition at the Ferrari Store in via Tomacelli, Rome. The show is dedicated to the actors and films that have helped to spread the Prancing Horse myth around the world.
Ferrari has always been a source of inspiration, from Cinecittà to Hollywood. This has made Ferrari models the star of memorable movie moments.
Timed to coincide with the 60th anniversary of the Maranello based company, the exhibition includes a previously unseen photographic section. The images have been sourced from the Ferrari archive and depict many famous names sitting in a Ferrari on set and in their private lives. Among them is James Stewart alongside a Ferrari 375 MM, Kirk Douglas and his Ferrari 250 GT, Jane Mansfield in a Ferrari 250 LM.
An original montage of over 70 films recounts, through the language of film, in short excerpts, the story of Ferrari and its 60 year history.
The exhibition route inside the store is enhanced by a window display full of historic objects, kindly lent by Cinecittà. These include a director's chair, a cinema lamp and a clapperboard. Obviously, there is also an exceptional classic Ferrari on show.
Dreams and myths also combine to inspire images for the new 'Movie' clothing range, on sale from March exclusively at Ferrari Stores and on the www.ferraristore.com site.
The range includes a series of t-shirts and sweatshirts that bear a section of a film reel featuring a Prancing Horse on the front and a clapperboard on the back.
