Bouchut was the first to improve the morning’s best time, with a lap of 1’32.512, but Pedro Lamy immediately replied with a time of 1’32.373. Bouchut came out again, and set the best time of the day with a lap of 1’32.035. The rest of the session was much more peaceful, most of the teams chosing to work on their race set-up, with heavy fuel loads. The GPC Sport Ferrari 575 Maranello nr 2 set the third best time of the day, ahead of Vitaphone Maserati nr9.
The GLPK Corvette nr 6 did not take part in this session; they used both sets of tyres in the morning session after several spins.
In GT2, the GruppeM Porsche 996 GT3 RSR nr88 set the fastest time just ahead of its nr66 sister car. The third time was closely fought for by the Ebimotors Porsche nr 74, the Noble Group-GruppeM Racing Porsche nr68 and the GPC Ferrari 360 Modena nr86. Luca Drudi in the Ferrari set the third time at the end of the session.
The Belgian Racing Vertigo Streiff nr105 set the fastest time in G2 ahead of the Amprex Motorsports Lotus Exige 300RR nr110, which finally took the track this afternoon. The car was not allowed on track this morning as it could not present the homologation form concerning its roll cage to scrutineering. The form was faxed later in the morning by the MSA.
