2006 » GT Italia » 6 ORE VALLELUNGA - 6 Hours Vallelunga Gold Cup - Another triumph for Maserati

The Maserati MC12 again took the win today at the 6 Hours Gold Cup. The race was held at the Vallelunga track on which Maserati triumphed last 15 October. Then the Trident claimed the Drivers' title courtesy of Playteam SaraFree's Gianbattista Giannoccaro and Toni Vilander in the Sara GT Gran Turismo Italian championship. Driving for Racing Box this time were Marco Cioci, Pierluigi Perazzini and Pedro Lamy. Eleven laps behind the Maserati came the Porsche GT3 with Sada-Fratti-Tenchini-Basso on board and the Norma M20 Ev driven by Ghiotto-Casoni-Uboli.

Starting on the front row with the second fastest time, the Racing Box Maserati MC12 moved into the lead in the second hour. From that point on it never once relinquished top spot. At the end of the 6 Hours of Vallelunga Gold Cup, the Cioci-Perazzini-Lamy MC12 had completed 215 laps in 6h01'29"524 at an average of 145.774 km/h.
