Davies-Biagi’s MC12 in first line

After the brief summer break, the FIA GT championship gets going again. The fifth round of the championship will take the place on the French circuit of Le Castellet. Today - Saturday 19 August – the qualifying sessions were held.
The Vitaphone Racing Team Maserati MC12 driven by Jamie Davies and Thomas Biagi set the second quickest time(1’52”961), a tenth down on Menten-Belloc in the Corvette C6R (1’52”841).
Author of the fastest lap for Maserati was Italian Biagi who ran his best qualifying lap of the season.
Michael Bartels and Andrea Bertolini’s Maserati MC12, heading overall, also did well. They qualified on row three despite have an extra 100 kg of ballast to cope with following their recent win in the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps.
The 15 minute warm-up is timed for 9.00 tomorrow, Sunday 20 August, and the green light will be shown for the three hour race at 13.30.
