More success for Ferrari with a top triple in the Spa-Francorchamps "24 Hours."

There was more success for Ferrari this weekend, in the Spa-Francorchamps "24 Hours", the fourth round of the FIA GT championship. While the GT1 class of the prestigious Belgian race did not feature any Prancing Horse cars and was won by Maserati, Ferrari took an important one-two-three finish in the closely contested GT2 class.
The new F430 GTC, developed by the Maranello Corse Clienti department, finished the marathon race in the top three places of the category, beating several Porsches and its closest competitor, in the shape of the Spyker. A one-two for the Italian AF Corse di Amato Ferrari team (Pirelli tyres) crewed by Salo/Aguas/Scheider and Bobbi/Melo/Ortelli, who finished sixth and seventh overall; third came the crew of Kinch/Kirkaldy/Franchitti driving for Scuderia Ecosse (Michelin) who had started from pole.

The Spa "24 Hours" marked the debut of the F430 GTC in such a long race and the cars crossed the line in formation to underline a performance that strengthened Ferrari's lead in the FIA GT2 Constructors Cup.
The next round of the international Grand Touring series is scheduled for the weekend of 20th August at the French Le Castellet circuit.
