Comments after the Italian GT races at Monza

Toni Vilander: The car was set up very well. I had to slow a little to maintain the fuel levels.
Giambattista Giannoccaro: The accelerator kept locking and this conditioned my stint. On the final lap at Parabolica, I got the racing line right and managed to overtake Cappellari.
Piergiuseppe Perazzini: It was a very hard race, especially for the tyres and brakes, but the MC12 handled excellently.
Luca Cappellari: It was a shame to lose by just a few metres. Unfortunately, I had to slow down to conserve fuel. On the last lap, a back marker cost me time and Giannoccaro benefited. I have to compliment Giannoccaro on his showing.
Amato Ferrari (AF Corse): The drivers raced intelligently and put the car in a good position. The tyres also contributed to the good consumption and this is one of the Maserati Light’s plus points.

Race-2
Luca Cappellari: It was a win that makes up for all of this year’s bad luck. The key was the start in which I managed to get past the other MC12. The battle with Giannoccaro was hard but fair.
Piergiuseppe Perazzini: The car was set up well, including the brakes. At the beginning of my stint, I had some trouble getting going. The engine tended to cut out when I lifted off the clutch. When the safety car came on at the end, I was afraid that Vilander would take advantage.
Giambattista Giannoccaro: At the second Lesmo, I lost control of the car but, luckily, managed to restart. The MC12 handled very well throughout.
Toni Vilander: I tried to take the lead at the end and, had the safety car pulled in, I may have been able to catch Perazzini.
