Comments after the Italian GT qualifying at Monza

Toni Vilander: The car is more competitive than ever and is quick on the straights and in the chicanes. It is hard to say if I could have lowered my time any more as, as soon as I knew that pole was secure, I pulled into the pits. What is certain is that the MC12 has a very high limit.
Giambattista Giannoccaro: The MC12 is very well balanced, thanks also to the elimination of the 100kg ballast. I came back onto the track at the very end with new tyres. This was in order to go all out and the tactic paid off. The race strategy will be aimed at consolidating our championship lead and avoiding risky situations.
Piergiuseppe Perazzini: Between free practice and qualifying, we had to solve a ratio problem with the gears. The results were positive, with evident results.
Luca Cappellari: In the second official qualifying session I had a perfect car. Unfortunately, on my final lap – one in which the split times reported that I had a healthy lead – I was slowed by a GT3 car and almost clashed with it. This aside, I am very pleased with how the car handled.
Amato Ferrari (team manager AF Corse): The competition in GT3 is tough and qualifying served mainly to get to know the setting and the other drivers. The car is reliable and we hope to have two good races tomorrow.
