A swift Diego Alessi took his third pole position of the season in the Trofeo Audemars Piguet Maserati Europa. At the Oschersleben circuit, the fourth round of the 2006 season is taking place. With the best time of 1'34"584, Alessi was quicker than the expert Alberto Cerrai (1'35"320) and the young crew of Nicolò Oddi and Giacomo Ricci (1'35"385). So, the third pole for Alessi after those obtained at Monza, in the opening race of the season, and at Brno. At the English track of Silverstone, young Oliver Jarvis took top spot.
The German prince, Albert Thurn und Taxis, paired with journalist Horst von Saurma in the Toora car,
made row two by setting the fourth best time overall and was the first of the VIP cars. The 'noble' driver participated in the Trofeo Maserati in 2004 and 2005.
Less than ten second separate Alberto Vescovi and Maurizio Fabris, fifth and sixth on the grid. Fabris is making a bid for the Trofeo title and is currently in second place, just a point behind leader Cerrai.
At the wheel of the Maserati GranSport Trofeo was the rapper 'Smudo', leader of the Die Fantastichen Vier group: seventh in qualifying, was the second fastest VIP car in the Audemars Piguet (ahead of De Megni in the Pakelo and Zenere in the Isoclima car).




The sixty minute race will start at 10.25 tomorrow, Sunday 2 July.
