With a week to go before the race at Magione, Mugello will be the setting for the fifth round of the Italian Gran Turismo championship. At the fast Tuscan track, the Playteam Sara Free and Racing Box teams will be the cars to beat even though the Ferraris and Saleens have proved to be extremely competitive on more than one occasion.

At Magione the Trident drivers will both be going all out for victory. Success in race 2 allowed Toni Vilander and Giambattista Giannoccaro (Playteam Sara Free) to consolidate their top spot overall at a race that marks the season's halfway point. Winner of race 1 last Sunday and runner-up in race 2, Luca Cappellari (Racing Box) will hope to climb the standings in the last three stages between July and October. Further back in the classifications after missing the Vallelunga event is Miguel Ramos, Cappellari's team mate.

There will be two official qualifying sessions (13.30 and 15.30) with the two races, lasting an hour each, are programmed for Sunday at 12.45 and 16.50. These will be beamed live on the Mediaset Premium channel.
