Victory for Belluzzi and Ciro in Ferrari Challenge at Vallelunga

Vallelunga, 28th May 2006

The Vallelunga circuit near Rome today hosted races in the third round of this season's Italian Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy, the one-make series now in its fourteenth year, which features the new F430, alongside some 360 Modena cars competing in their final year.

In the grid for the F430, the main category saw victory go to Andrea Belluzzi (Motor) in race-1, with the San Marino driver crossing the line ahead of Giuseppe Ciro (Motor/Malucelli) and Fabio Santaniello (team Maranello.) The afternoon race however, went to Ciro, who headed home Vito Postiglione (Stile F) and Gianluca Giraudi (Motor/Malucelli.)



Christian Francesco (team Forza) took top honours in the morning race for gentlemen drivers in the Shell Cup, winning from Vanni Campari (Motor/Sauro) and the duo of Turrini/Frosnini (Motor) in second and third places respectively.

In the grouping for the 360 Modena, wins were shared between Lorenzo Bontempelli (Rossocorsa) and Giovanni Gulinelli (Rossocorsa/Pellin.)

The Italian series of the Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy will be back on track over the weekend of 18th June at Mugello (Florence.)
