Alessi/Ravasio, the pole experts are back

Alessi, making a return to Francesco Ravasio’s side, had to contend with a new adversary in the Brno track as it was his first outing here. Alessi also had to be at his best to beat off the challenge of Alberto Cerrai, his GT3 series partner.
“I am very happy”, declared Alessi, “as I came here expecting to battle with an in-form Cerrai. I knew he would also have the edge as he knows the circuit while this is my first time at Brno. Yesterday’s free practice went well but I hoped to improve my chrono. This I managed to do but I did not better it by as much as I would have liked. This is a track where you set the quickest time on lap one. After this the tyres’ tend to perform less well owing to the type of abrasive asphalt. I made three bad mistakes on lap one and so lost more time than my eventual chrono would suggest. In the race it will be important to find out what the weather holds and today’s forecast is not very clear. If it is dry I think that the battle will be between myself and Cerrai. I don’t think I will be able to pull away as I usually do because there are no real straights on this circuit, nor are there any particularly demanding stretches. If it rains anything could happen”.
