Mr Kunimitsu Takahashi, Chairperson of the GTA:
"Malaysia and Japan continue to build their ever-strong relations in both economic and cultural terms. Next year marks the 50th anniversary of cultural exchanges between our two countries, and I will ask for further cooperation through greater cultural and exchange developments in sports to commemorate this milestone."
Over 100 Malaysian media attended the event, with some 50 others also in attendance for the announcement.

The Hotel Equatorial's entranceway was adorned with SUPER GT branding, and featured SUPER GT machines in the hotel lobby on the occasion of the announcement. The cars will remain on display until the running of the event, with a variety of activities also planned up until the running of the race. Added awareness of the SUPER GT event comes with the hotel employees sporting SUPER GT shirts in the lead-up to the prestigious event.
Also, there will be a SUPER GT demonstration run in the center of Kuala Lumpur in the middle of next month, heightening awareness of the race even further.
Expectations for a truly exciting event are high this year, the seventh running of the JAPAN GT Malaysia event.
