BRITISH GT - LNT Pair Take Pole Position Ahead of Scuderia Ecosse.

In a combined double qualifying session Tim Kimber-Smith and Luke Hines will start the first 2-hour British GT race of 2006 at the head of the 28 car field at Donington Park tomorrow. The Team LNT pairing will be looking to avenge the double win the Scuderia Ecosse Ferrari took at Oulton Park at Easter in tomorrows race which gets underway at 13:05.
The inaugural British GT3 pole was claimed by the Trackspeed Porsche 997 of Rory Fordyce and Danny Watts, shading the Barwell Aston Martin of Paul Drayson and Jonathan Cocker. It was a Trackspeed double as the Porsche 996 of Jonny Lang and Matt Allison took the GTC pole from Team RPM's Alex Mortimer and Bradley Ellis.

For the first time this year the best time from the two 15-minute qualifying sessions would count. The Team LNT Panoz set the fastest time in the opening session with the Scuderia Ecosse pairing of Tim Mullen and Chris Niarchos responding by posting the fastest lap of the second session but it wasn't enough with the LNT Panoz time 0.3 seconds faster. The Rollcentre Racing Mosler of Ian Flux and Kevin Riley was third fastest ahead of the Eclipse Mosler of Lee Caroline and Phil Keen and the Team Eurotech - Preci Spark Porsche of David and Godfrey Jones.
