JAPAN LE MANS CHALLENGE Combined Tests Report

The first set of combined tests for JAPAN LE MANS CHALLENGE All Japan Sports Car Endurance Championship (JLMC) was successfully held at Sugo, the circuit chosen for the first event of this Championship. On the first day, the cars tested under dry but rigorous conditions, strong winds, occasional light rain and low temperatures, nothing yet to remind us of spring. Combined tests. Day 1, first session started at 12:00. The test session opened up with the first car to venture on the track, car No.27 a PORCHE GT3 RSR (Class LMGT-2) from TEAM KAWAMURA followed by the many categories that will soon challenge in the first race of the season. Each team meticulously and repeatedly tested all the various car settings but it was Zytek 04S (Class LMP-1) from HITOTSUYAMA RACING that achieved the best morning test (two hours) lap time of 1'12.774 in one of its 50 test laps.
The afternoon consisted of a one-hour test session from 15:00. Once again it was the Zytek that achieved the fastest lap time of the day by shortening its own time to 1'12.486. Simultaneously taking place at the track was the car inspections, conducted by the ACO (Automobile Club de L'Ouest) technical delegate who had traveled from France for this test session. The whole atmosphere portraits steady preparations being undertaken by the JLMC for the first race, coming up on the 13th and 14th of May. On this day, the three HTP car holders (FIA Historical Technical Passport) that will compete in the Classic Endurance Racing Japan (CERJ) event, to be held simultaneously with the JLMC, have also gone through inspections. Historical cars of top historical status, prototypes of the highest and newest technologies, GT cars, all performed together, under the same circumstances. A day where the venue's concept "Past, Present and Future: Each of the dots forming a steady line" was experienced and enjoyed.
