THE PENULTIMATE ROUND AT THE ULTIMATE CIRCUIT Coming into being in the mid-fifties, Imola is a classic circuit of classical proportions, and this year it hosts the penultimate round of the 2005 World Superbike Championship. The final event takes place at Magny Cours in France, one weekend hence, lending Imola an additional air of urgency and drama. The 4.933 km circuit features frequent changes in elevation, high speed and ultra-slow sections, and an outstanding atmosphere – partly due to its city centre location and vociferous Italian crowd.
