At the Italian circuito 'Enzo e Dino Ferrari' of Imola, finished today (Sunday 26th of March) the first round of Sara GT Italian Championship. Two Maserati MC12 take part at the serie with the colours of Playteam Sara Free and Racing Box. One MC12 with the drivers Gianbattista Giannoccaro and Toni Vilander, second car with Luca Cappellari and Miguel Ramos.

The Maserati MC12 of Giannoccaro and Vilander conquered the win in Race 1 in front of Kessel-Chiesa Ferrari 575 and Ferrari 430 of Zardo-Caffi. Started from the first line with the second best time in qualifying, Vilander dominated the first half part of the race; during the second part, Giannoccaro drove the MC12 till its first win of the season.



With the pole position in second qualifying session, Giannoccato started in haed of Race 2. Lap by lap, Giannoccaro was faster than Ferrari 575 driven by Kessel. After the driver changing, at the 14th lap, Vilander took the wheel of Playteam Maserati MC12, but, after four laps, he entered in the box with trasmission problem and he didn't finish the race.

Next round of GT Italian Championship, second of eigth in calendar, is provided on 14th of May at Misano Adriatico circuit.
