UNITED STATES GP – FERNANDO AND KIMI FIFTH AND NINTH


Austin, 1 November – Fernando Alonso was fifth and Kimi Raikkonen was ninth come the end of the final free practice session for the United States Grand Prix. Track temperature was quite low as the Scuderia Ferrari drivers tried both tyre compounds, doing qualifying simulations in the final minutes of the session on the Softs. Fernando did 13 laps, the fastest in 1.38.727, while Kimi did 17, with a best of 1.39.143.
Once again, the benchmark time was set by Lewis Hamilton in 1.37.107, with his Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg second, followed by the Williams duo of Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas. Splitting the Ferraris were Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull,) Nico Hulkenberg (Force India) and Adrian Sutil (Sauber.) Qualifying start at 13h00 (19h00 CET.)
