Happy Birthday Marc!

Maranello, 29 March – In Monza, preparations are underway for the start of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli Europa season and at Mugello, there was a test session today for owners of historic Formula 1 cars. Guest of honour was Marc Gené, present as a tutor to help the drivers get the most out of their own cars. The Spaniard received a special welcome and a giant cake, prepared by the Ferrari staff as a surprise for his birthday.
The day’s programme was part of the non-competitive events organised by Ferrari for owners of “dreams with engines,” those cars that have written the Scuderia’s history. All the owners have to do is turn up with race suit and helmety while everything else involved in running the car and transporting it is down to the F1 Clienti department, whose main activity is running and restoring cars built since 1970 to today. There were five historic cars in action on the Tuscany circuit, with a 1998 F300 used by Irvine catching the eye, along with an ex-Schumacher F2003 GA and a more recent car, the F2008 that took the Scuderia to a Constructors’ title.
Protagonists in non-competitive the Corse Clienti activities will be back in action at the end of April at California’s Infineon circuit at the same time as the second round of the Ferrari Challenge North America.
