Chinese GP – Alonso fifth and Massa sixth in the third free practice session

Sebastian Vettel in the Red Bull was quickest in the third and final free practice session for the Chinese Grand Prix this morning at the Shanghai International Circuit. The German posted a time of 1.34.968, to finish ahead of the two McLarens of Jenson Button (1.35.176) and Lewis Hamilton (1.35.373.) The Ferraris of Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa were fifth and sixth respectively: the Spaniard did a best lap of 1.35.818 completing 17 in total, which was two more than team-mate Felipe Massa whose best was a 1.35.971. More aero testing for both drivers, as well as comparison work on the two types of tyre compound with an eye to qualifying.
The team has plenty of work to do in the two hours between practice and the grid deciding session for the third round of the Formula 1 World Championship.
