Abu Dhabi GP - Alonso third and Massa sixth in second free practice

The second free practice session has just finished for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix under the artificial lights of the Yas Marina Circuit. The final round of the F1 world championship is scheduled for Sunday at the futuristic venue in the UAE. The best time was recorded by the McLaren of Lewis Hamilton (1.40.888), followed by the Red Bull of Sebastian Vettel (1.41.145) and the Ferrari of Fernando Alonso (1.41.314). The other F10 of Felipe Massa was sixth in 1.41.583, but forced to retire a few minutes before the end of the session because of a fuel supply problem. For the team the set-up work on both cars provided precious new data for tomorrow afternoon’s qualifying. Then it will be particularly important, as today, to try out the change of light that will also occur during the race which starts at the same time on Sunday. Both Ferrari drivers tried out a rear wing with less downforce than the one they used this morning – and both tyre compounds, hard for the first two runs and soft for the last one.
The third and final free practice session is scheduled for tomorrow at 1400 local time.
