The Italian Challenge will elect its champions in Valencia

The sixth round of the Italian Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli has just ended at Vallelunga’s Piero Taruffi Circuit, featuring the F430s entered in the Ferrari one-make series which always produces spectacular action packed races. Prior to the start of Race 1, there was a minute’s silence in memory of the death of four Italian soldiers in Afghanistan.


Victory in Race 1 of the Italian series of the Trofeo Pirelli went to Matteo Malucelli (Motor/Malucelli) ahead of Giorgio Sernagiotto (Motor/Piacenza) and Andrea Belluzzi (Motor /Modena). In the second race, first across the line was again Matteo Malucelli (Motor/Malucelli) followed by the second and third placed men, Giorgio Sernagiotto (Motor/Piacenza) and Stefano Gai (Rossocorsa). As for the competitors in the Coppa Shell Flavio Pierleoni (Motor/Malucelli) took the win from Aleksander Skryabin (Rossocorsa/Pellin) and Andrea Rizzoli (Motor/Piacenza), while the top honours in Race 2 went to Vincenzo Sauto (Ineco/ MP), who got the better of Giovanni Zonzini (Motor/Malucelli) and Giovanni Gaetani (Motor/Piacenza).

The next event for competitors in the Italian series of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli takes place at Valencia’s Ricardo Tormo circuit from 26 to 28 November as part of the 2010 Ferrari World Finals, the event that traditionally brings the Prancing Horse’s racing season to a close. Apart from the final races in the Italian series, the F430s will also be on track for the European and North American finales in the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli.
Repeat showings of the first race of the Italian series of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli will be broadcast on Tuesday 12 October at 23 and Wednesday 13 at 16, while Race 2 will be shown today at 24.45, Wednesday 13 at 17 on and Thursday 14 at 23, all on Sky Sport 2.
