Vallelunga: Malucelli celebrates his return with two poles but Pierleoni is the quickest in Coppa Shell

Almost one month after the previous round in Budapest, at the Ferrari Racing Days, the Italian series of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli was back in action today at Vallelunga’s Piero Taruffi Circuit.

Competitors in the sixth round of the season of the Italian series took part in two qualifying sessions, where on the grid for the F430 cars entered in the Trofeo Pirelli, the first pole of the day went to Matteo Malucelli (Motor Malucelli).

The 2004 category champion, followed over the line by Giorgio Sernagiotto (Motor Piacenza) and Stefano Gai (Rossocorsa), set the quickest time in the first run. The grid for Race 2 sees again Matteo Malucelli (Motor Malucelli) start from the number one slot, ahead of Stefano Gai (Rossocorsa) and Giorgio Sernagiotto (Motor Piacenza).


In the first session for the gentleman drivers in the Coppa Shell, the fastest time was set by Flavio Pierleoni (Motor Malucelli), beating Andrea Rizzoli (Motor Piacenza) and Erich Prinoth (Ineco MP). Quickest in the second run was again Flavio Pierleoni (Motor Malucelli) who got the better of Aleksander Skryabin (Rossocorsa Pellin) and Andrea Rizzoli (Motor Piacenza).

Tomorrow’s races are eagerly awaited that will be shown live on Sunday 10 October on Sky Sport 2 at 9.15 (Race 1) and at 14 (Race 2). Prior to the start of Race 1, there will be a minute’s silence in memory of the death of four Italian soldiers in Afghanistan.

Repeats of Race 1 will be shown tomorrow at 11 on Sky Sport 3 and at 13 on Sky Sport 2, Tuesday 12 at 23 on Sky Sport 2 and Wednesday 13 at 16 on Sky Sport 2. Race 2 will be repeated tomorrow at 24.45, Wednesday 13 at 17 and Thursday 14 at 23, all on Sky Sport 2.
