Hungarian GP - Not much grip

Hungaroring, 31 July 2010

The final free practice session for the twelfth round of the Formula 1 World Championship, the Hungarian Grand Prix, which saw track action start yesterday, has just come to an end at the Hungaroring. Yet again, the Red Bulls were dominant, with Mark Webber fastest (1.19.574) ahead of Sebastian Vettel (1.20.058,) with Fernando Alonso third for Ferrari in 1.20.724. In the other F10, Felipe Massa set the fifth time in 1.21.264 in a session that was seriously affected by the poor track conditions, after overnight rain and oil on track from a previous session, meant there was hardly any grip on offer. The team made some set-up changes on the Brazilian’s car, while both Ferraris ran without the blown rear wing, as they made two runs each, the first on hard tyres, the second on the softer compound.
Qualifying to decide the grid order gets underway at 14.00 this afternoon, prior to tomorrow’s race.
