Spa 24 Hours – Ferrari on pole in the Ardennes

Last night, the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium was the scene of three qualifying sessions for the 24 Hour race. One of the two Ferraris entered by AF Corse Ald Team Vitaphone set the fastest time overall.

The race counts for the European GT2 Cup, run alongside the fifth round of the FIA GT series for GT1 cars, and features GT2, GT3, GTN and GT4 machines. Pole went to the crew of Gimmi Bruni, Toni Vilander, Bert Longin and Eric Van De Poele (2.22.403,) ahead of the two Porsche 911s of Patrick Long-Raymond Narac-Patrick Pilet-Richard Lietz (2.23.960) and Richard Westbrook-Marco Holzer-Marc Lieb-Marc Goossens (2.24.456.)

Fifth in class was the other F430 entered by the Piacenza-based squad, driven by Robert Kauffman, Michael Waltrio and Niki Cadei (2.27.072.) The endurance race in the Ardennes sees the lights go out for the start, this afternoon at 16.00.
