Grossmann on pole at Ferrari Racing Days in Valencia

The second Ferrari Racing Days of the year got underway today at the Ricardo Tormo circuit at Cheste, Valencia, with qualifying sessions for the F430s entered in the fourth round of the European Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli, ahead of two races tomorrow. The packed programme also featured some untimed sessions on this spectacular track for three Ferrari FXX and no less than eleven 599XX, from the eponymous series, being driven by their owners. Other non-competitive action included track time for over thirty Ferrari owners who were able to test themselves at the wheel of their cars in the special “Emozioni in pista” programme.
The fight for pole position in the first qualifying session for the Trofeo Pirelli was won by Bjorn Grossmann (Autohaus Gohm). Lining up alongside the German on the front row for Race 1 will be Max Blancardi (Motor/Malucelli) while third place on the grid went to Massimo Mantovani (Motor/Malucelli).
In the Coppa Shell Stephane Clareton (Stradale Automobile) stopped the clocks in the quickest time, finishing in fourth place overall, followed by Aleksandr Skryabin (Ferrari Moscow) and Giovanni Zonzini (Motor/Malucelli), second and third among the gentleman drivers. The second qualifying to decide the grid for Race 2 saw once again Bjorn Grossmann (Autohaus Gohm) dominate the session, ahead of Max Blancardi (Motor/Malucelli) and Philipp Baron (Baron Service). Fastest of the Coppa Shell drivers was Aleksandr Skryabin (Ferrari Moscow) who was seventh overall, followed by Dirk Adamsky (Autohaus Saggio) and Stephane Clareton (Stradale Automobile).
Tomorrow’s programme features two races, each lasting 40 minutes, starting at 10.40 and 15.30, with both categories taking part in the same race, but with different classifications. Also enlivening the programme tomorrow will be the appearance of an F60, the car with which Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro contested last year’s Formula 1 World Championship, now run by the F1 Clienti department of Maranello and driven by test driver Marc Gené.
