Ferrari Racing Days at Valencia

This weekend, the Ricardo Tormo di Cheste circuit at Valencia, hosts the second round of the Ferrari Racing Days, featuring the F430s entered in the fourth round of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli, three Ferrari FXX cars and no less than twelve 599 XX cars driven by their owners involved in the eponymous programme consisting of a few sessions of untimed laps.
The event gets underway on Saturday, with free practice and qualifying, prior to two races on Sunday, when competitors in the Trofeo Pirelli and Coppa Shell will race together but with separate classifications. Going into this round, the European Trofeo Pirelli classification is headed by Austria’s Philipp Baron on 83 points, followed by Max Blancardi (Motor/Malucelli) on 63 and Germany’s Bjorn Grossmann (Autohaus Gohm) on 62. Among the gentleman drivers in the Coppa Shell, it is England’s Oliver Morely (Motor/Malucelli) who has pulled out a 16 point lead over Marco Galassi (Motor/Malucelli) with 18 in hand over the Hungarian, Tibor Valint (Warm Up.) Also making an appearance on track will be an F60, the car with which Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro contested last year’s Formula 1 World Championship, now run by the F1 Clienti Department of Maranello, with test driver Marc Gene at the wheel.
